The Kamado Joe Classic II and Classic III are both fantastic ceramic grills – apart from the price what else is different?

The Hyperbolic SloRoller

The SloRoller comes standard with the Classic 3. This chamber insert is designed to distribute heat and smoke in rolling recirculating waves surrounding food in clouds of smoke while evenly distributing heat, resulting in enhanced flavour and reduced hot spots.

Classic 2 users still get excellent smoking ability with their heat deflectors, however if they have SloRoller-envy it can be purchased as an add-on accessory. However, there will only be one level of cooking compared to the two levels of the Classic 3 due to the 3’s increased height.

Divide & Conquer Flexible Cooking Rack System

Cooking racks are supplied as standard with both Classic versions, however the system is bigger on the Classic 3 offering a 3-tier system. This will not fit in a Classic 2.

Charcoal Basket

Standard with a Classic 3. Quickly separate leftover charcoal from your ashes. Additionally, the Charcoal Basket will provide better airflow by filtering out the small particles of charcoal, resulting in a cleaner burn. The basket includes a stainless-steel divider to create multiple cooking zones, and is designed to connect to the bottom of the Divide & Conquer Flexible Cooking System® to allow for easy connect and disconnect when lifting in and out of the grill.

The Charcoal Basket is available as a separate purchase for Classic 2 users.

Cart comparison

The Classic 3 cart is far superior to the Classic 2’s. A premium heavy duty powder coated steel cart with more robust, thicker legs. that’s built to withstand the elements. The cart also includes a cable tidy (handy for probes) and a very useful accessory shelf – handy to store the SloRoller and your other accessories.

Unfortunately, the Classic 2 will not fit this superior cart.
